Match Report : Real Madrid 7-3 Sevilla Ronaldo and Bale rampant as Real hammer Sevilla

Santiago Bernabeu - Real Madrid 7 (Ronaldo 71’, 60’, 32’ pen, Bale 13', 25', Benzema 80’, 53’) Sevilla 3 (Rakitic 38' pen, 63', Bacca 40')

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale ran rampant as Real Madrid hammered Sevilla 7-3 at the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo hit a hat-trick while Bale, under pressure ahead of his full home debut, scored two and created two more, with Karim Benzema also notching a brace.
Ivan Rakitic scored twice, one of which was a penalty, also missing a spot-kick for the visitors; Carlos Bacca was also on target for Sevilla.

It was a frantic match, as notable for some shocking defending - and soft penalty decisions - as it was for the highly-entertaining level of pace and adventure.
Bale got the ball rolling with a fantastic curling finish before seeing a free-kick deflected in.
The Welshman - whose position at the club was questioned by the Spanish media after a slow start to live in the capital - was unlucky not to get a quick-fire hat-trick as Sevilla keeper Beto made some great saves, while Ronaldo pulled rank with a penalty after Isco was felled in the box.
The Portuguese made no mistake from the spot.
Real were cruising at 3-0 but Sevilla hit two in two minutes before half-time, first through Rakitic from the spot, with Bacca quickly finishing from close range to set pulses racing.
But the hosts pulled clear again in the second half, as Ronaldo completed his hat-trick with a cool double, Benzema also getting in on the act with two poacher's goals.
Rakitic hit a screamer at 5-3 but he blotted his personal copy-book with a penalty miss, although it should not have been awarded as Ronaldo clearly won the ball; the other two spot-kicks were poor decisions too: while there was contact in both cases, Sevilla's was outside the box and Real's seemed harsh at best.
The win means Real stay third but close the gap on leaders Barcelona to six points. Sevilla sit in mid-table.
