Gunmen kill pregnant woman, five others killed in Jos

A pregnant woman and five men were on Thursday killed by unknown gunmen at Bisichi in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Four other people were seriously injured as the suspected armed robbers opened fire on their vehicle along Foron Road around 7.30 pm. while returning home from Bukuru.

Female Passenger Causes Panic Aboard Aero Flight

Barely one week after a teenage boy, Daniel Ohikena caused a scare when he stowed away on an Arik Air plane from Benin to Lagos, another woman took over last Friday.
Passengers aboard an Aero Contractors aircraft scheduled to take-off from Lagos to Benin were Friday thrown into confusion as one of the female passengers started screaming on top of her voice that she was no longer travelling.
She was initially ignored by members of cabin crew and passengers alike but when she continued screaming, her persistence led to panic and suspicion among the passengers.

Mack Maine has been revealed to be the entourage member who assaulted a female fan at a date on Lil Wayne's "America's Most Wanted Tour"

Youngsters in Japan who are glued to their smartphones and laptops may be sent to an Internet "fasting" camp to help them disconnect from the online world.

The Ministry of Education estimates that some 518,000 Japanese children between the ages of 12 and 18 are addicted to the Internet, according to The Daily Telegraph. And officials fear that the number of middle school and high school students in need of a digital detox is rising.

To combat this growing problem, the ministry has asked the government to fund immersion programs, or "fasting" camps, designed to separate the children from their computers, handheld gaming devices and mobile phones.

Lil Wayne's new "Dedication 5" mixtape has been "postponed for a short period".

Lil Wayne's highly anticipated Dedication 5 mixtape was set to drop at 5 PM EST, but an announcement from Wayne's camp has confirmed that the project will be pushed back. While a new drop time/date has not been provided, the statement says that Weezy is just putting the finishing touches on the project-- so it could still drop sooner than later.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’I, said on Thursday in Abuja that French would be part of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as from 2014 for interested candidates.

Rufa’I said this at farewell reception held in honour of the French Language Project Manager, Mr Jean-Phillipe Roy.

She said that being multi-lingual in the 21st Century was essential as it helps individuals to operate more effectively in the international community.

“For Nigeria, the study of French language is quite key, considering the fact that our neighbouring countries are French-speaking.

THE Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday said it will ask the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resume negotiation with the Federal Government for the resolution of their differences.

NLC President, comrade Abdulwahed Omar, spoke after the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

He said there were reports that the union had issued a statement to withdraw from the negotiations with the Federal Government.

Omar said: “Congress resolved at the meeting that we are also going to make consultations to ensure that the negotiations resume immediately. We want to ensure that they are resumed to resolve the issues, not to resume and continue to dangle around without making any headway. We are also going to study the situation and make some proposals.

What is thought to be 2 Chainz tour bus was pulled over outside Oklahoma City, and the bus driver was arrested on suspicion of drug use.

2 Chainz is once more having trouble on the road, after being robbed in San Francisco where he was scheduled to perform in the Bay Area. This time, however, it appears Tity 2 Necklace may not have been on site during the incident, which involved his tour bus.
What is believed to be the rapper's tour bus was stopped outside Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this morning. As Oklahoma's NewsOn6.Com reports, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne performed at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday night. Just past midnight on Thursday, the cops pulled over a tour bus for a broken taillight on Interstate 40 and Meridian.
