He’s
wealthy enough to book every table in any restaurant of his choosing if
he wants to dine out in private, and judging by the empty chairs
surrounding Roman Abramovich it looked as if he’d
done just that.
Indeed, it was quiet enough to hear a
rouble drop when as the Russian oligarch enjoyed a lunch date with
partner Dasha Zhukova at Puny restaurant during their current stay in
picturesque Italian coastal town Portofino.
The couple were spotted as they surveyed their menus in silence before a waiter approached and obligingly took their order.
With a glass of red wine in front of
him, Chelsea owner Roman looked relaxed in a short sleeved white shirt
and blue shorts, while model Dasha kept things low-key in a simple black
top and a billowy ankle-length skirt.
During what amounted to the last day of
the Premier League transfer window, usually a day of furious activity
for club owners and managers, Roman quietly sipped his drink and chatted
with his partner – and with good cause.
The West London club recently conducted
some smart business in reinforcing their attack by signing striker
Samuel Eto’o, who arrived from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala for an
undisclosed fee having agreed to take a huge pay cut.
Perhaps with this in mind, Roman smiled broadly as he waited for his order to arrive, while Dasha quietly sat by his side.
The couple arrived in the popular
village by small passenger boat earlier that day after setting off from
Roman’s sprawling luxury yacht, Eclipse.
Earlier that day the couple enjoyed a
quiet stroll around the Italian Riviera hotspot, with Dasha making sure
to maximise her tanning potential in the plunging spaghetti-strap
number.
