The special, which aired at 9:30 p.m., virtually failed with its 18-49 target audience, pulling in a 0.9 rating. By comparison, the network aired "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," which has aired aratings disappointment on Thursday night.
The singer's 90-minute "Lady Gaga & The Muppets Holiday Spectacular" was a nnually since 1973 and is available in numerous home video formats, had higher ratings.
The special featured guests including RuPaul, Kristen Bell and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Elton John, who recently buried the hatchet with Gaga after an ongoing feud over the summer, also joined in the fun. The two singers sat face-to-face at their pianos and duetted on Elton's classic "Bennie and the Jets," on which the British star sang "Gaga and the Jets," followed by Gaga's new single "We Could Belong Together," which also featured the Muppets.
The last time Elton appeared on screen with late puppeteer Jim Henson's Muppets was in 1978, when he appeared on "The Muppet Show."
Lady Gaga is the godmother of the singer's two sons with David Furnish.
