Rapper Kanye West is to face off with his U.S. late-night TV foe after
agreeing to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night (09Oct13).
The
two celebrities have been embroiled in a feud since West took aim at
Jimmy Kimmel via Twitter.com last month (Sep13), after the comedian
poked fun at the Jesus Walks hitmaker for declaring he was the biggest
rock star in the world in a recent BBC interview.
Kimmel turned
the radio chat between West and presenter Zane Lowe into a comedy skit,
during which two kids re-enacted the interview segment. And Kimmel
quipped, "Does Kanye West know he's not supposed to be his own hype
man?"
The rapper was not amused by the skit and Kimmel's
remarks and he attacked the comic on Twitter, which only served to give
the TV host more ammunition to throw back at West.
In his show
on 26 September (13), he joked, "Did anyone else get a very angry phone
call from Kanye West about an hour and a half ago? Just me? OK. I didn't
know if he was mad at all of us.
"He is very angry because of a
bit we aired this week. He gave an interview to the BBC, and we had a
kid actor take the words and re-enact it. We just had the kid say the
stuff Kanye said. And apparently this upset him."
Kimmel
revealed West had urged him to "apologise publicly" and told him his
life would be "much better" if he said sorry to the rapper on air.
The comedian refused and simply read aloud some of West's tweets on the show, and responded to them.
He joked, "Finally, I'm in a rap feud. I always wanted to be in a rap feud."
