Team News
Stoke
- There are unlikely to be too many changes to the Stoke team providing Charlie Adam overcomes the knock that ruled him out of Scotland's game against Macedonia in midweek.
- Mark Hughes does, however, have Marko Arnautovic, Oussama Assaidi and Stephen Ireland added to his squad after a busy final day of the transfer window, and all 3 will be in contention.
- After scoring the winner at Upton Park last time out, Jermaine Pennant will be hoping for a little more gametime.
Manchester City
- David Silva was withdrawn from the Spain squad for the friendly against Chile on Tuesday and remains a doubt for the trip to Stoke with a thigh injury.
- Vincent Kompany, Micah Richards and newly-signed Martin Demichelis are all out, meaning City are still looking rather short at the back.
- If Silva doesn't make it back in time, Samir Nasri will be on standby to play.
Match Facts
Prediction
- Having won their last two matches, Stoke will be looking to win 3 consecutive matches for the first time since November/December last year, but up against Manchester City they face a tough task.
- Each of the last 4 Premier League meetings between the sides at the Britannia have ended in a 1-1 scoreline, and if Mark Hughes was to answer honestly, he'd probably admit he'd be happy with a repeat scoreline this time around.
- Manuel Pellegrini, meanwhile, after losing at Cardiff, will be after a first away win at Manchester City. Another 1-1 could just be on the cards, though.
