Ladies and gentleman, the Nike Kobe 9 Elite "Masterpiece." Mark Parker, CEO of Nike, Eric Avar, the designer, and Kobe Bryant, the Black Mamba, were all present for the official unveiling of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite.
The super high-top sneaker features Nike Flyknit, Flywire, and Lunarlon. Parker said of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite, "There's 50% less waste than a traditional basketball shoe." This is due to the Flyknit construction, which allows the high top to have a low top feel, which is something Kobe desperately wanted for his 9th signature.
The Flywire locks your foot down to the super comfortable and responsive Lunarlon sole. Kobe had practiced in the Kobe 9 earlier in the day and said the responsiveness of the Lunarlon sole is something that really stood out.
The heel is constructed of carbon fiber to give the shoe stability, and a pressure mapping designed rubber outsole mimics the natural contours of the foot.
Some more features include "KBNINTH" stamped on the ankle collar, "Masterpiece" inscribed on the inner tongue, and 9 stitches at the Achilles. This sneaker has to be one of the best kicks to play ball in to date, and can be purchased for $225 on February 8th.
