Match Preview: Real Madrid vs Getafe

Kick Off Time 18:00

Team News

Real Madrid
  • Gareth Bale is expected to make his home debut for Madrid after scoring in his first game in the 2-2 draw with Villarreal.
  • Asier Illarramendi could also be handed his first start at the Bernabeu after coming off the substitutes' bench against Galatasaray.
  • Raphael Varane and Fabio Coentrao returned to training this week. The latter is likely to start as he will be the only natural left-back available, but Varane has had a lengthy lay off and is more likely to start from the bench, with Pepe starting again.
Getafe
  • Mehdi Lacen is Getafe's only injury concern.
  • Luis Garcia's side got their first win of the season last week against bottom side Osasuna thanks to two goals from Miku, who spent last season on loan at Celtic.

Prediction

  • Getafe rarely cause Real Madrid any bother when they visit the Santiago Bernabeu and have conceded four goals in each of their last three trips there.
  • With Gareth Bale in the mood to impress the fans on his home debut, Getafe's hopes of shipping fewer goals this time around are slim.
  • Getafe are Ronaldo's favourite victims, and the Portuguese is fresh from scoring a hat-trick against Galatasaray, so Garcia's side should be very afraid.
