Prediction
- Manchester City's win in Europe was the perfect tonic following the disappointing 0-0 draw with Stoke City, but head coach Manuel Pellegrini's side will face a much sterner test against a Manchester United side who have won their last 2 games.
- The Chilean will look towards his defence as a means of denying United, with no team keeping more than the 21 clean sheets they have earned in the Premier League since the beginning of the 2012/13 season.
- Wayne Rooney will be tasked with breaking down the resolute City backline, having either scored or assisted 40 goals in his last 44 Premier League games. However, with 6 of the last 7 meetings between both sides at the Etihad seeing fewer than 2 goals scored, a tight low scoring affair is on the cards.
