Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, yesterday, unveiled the N30 billion tallest hotel in West Africa, the Intercontinental Lagos.

The hotel located at Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, is a 23-storey building with 358 rooms, 37 suites and a presidential suite.

The Intercontinental Lagos, a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Hotel Group, IHG, is owned by the Milan Group.

David Moyes rejected Sir Alex Ferguson’s advice to retain his Manchester United backroom team, according to Eric Steele.

Former United goalkeeping coach Steele was axed by Moyes in the close season, along with assistant manager Mike Phelan and first-team coach Rene Meulensteen.

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has once again asked Boko Haram fighters to lay down their arms and embrace peace, saying that although the country was experiencing hard times, the situation was not bad enough for some people to lose the will to live in the mistaken belief that it is better to die but not alone.

This goodwill message has been prepared by ACF to mark the nation’s 53 Independence anniversary.

Mr. Anthony Sani, the National Publicity Secretary of the Forum, has signed the statement entitled “ACF rum felicitates with people and government of Nigeria over the occasion of the 53th Independence”, which read the following:

The death toll at the College of Agriculure, Gujba ,Yobe State has risen to 78. Angry passengers yesterday evening Thursday September 26th blocked the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, preventing planes from taking-off or landing.

The passengers, who disembarked from an Arik Air flight, blocked the Abuja runway because the flight they took from Abuja to Calabar was not allowed to land in Calabar around 5.30pm for safety reasons - the runway lightening was poor, forcing the pilot to return the passengers to Abuja.

The passengers now felt the best way to express their anger was to prevent other planes from taking off or landing at the Abuja airport. Continue...

Justice Daniel Okungbowa, Edo State High Court, has been declared "missing" by the Edo State Police Command.
