Following a pool accident where he almost drowned, Usher’s child Raymond
V is said to be doing fine.
The singer’s child with ex-wife Tameka Foster, Usher Raymond V, was
reportedly swimming at his father’s Atlanta, Georgia home with his aunt on
Monday at approximately 6 pm when the accident occurred.
Contract workers at the residence are credited with freeing the boy and
giving him CPR after he reportedly got stuck in the pool drain while trying to
get a toy.
Medics arrived to the scene and the boy was transported to a local
hospital’s intensive care unit, according to TMZ.
A purported friend of Tameka’s posted an update about Usher Raymond V’s
condition on her blog Wednesday, E! News reports.
Apparently the boy is recovering well.
“My sources have confirmed that Lil Cinco [nickname for Usher Raymond V]
is doing fine,” she writes. “He’s currently in stable condition at Children’s
Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite and is being held for observation.”
The update comes just hours after Tameka reportedly filed legal documents
requesting an emergency custody hearing.
The stylist also shares a four-year-old son, Naviyd, with Usher, who has
primary custody of the children.
According to TMZ, Tameka claims her ex is neglecting his parental duties
by allowing others to care for their boys.
The accident follows little over a year after Tameka’s 11-year-old son
from a previous relationship passed away following a jet-ski accident that left
the child brain dead.
The family has yet to issue comment about the reported swimming incident.
