Rihanna will be the first artist to be named an AMA Icon at the American Music Awards.

may only be 25 years old, but she'll be the first artist honored for
her career achievements at this year's American Music Awards. RiRi will
receive the first ever AMA Icon award at the ceremony later this month.According to producer Larry Klein, the singer will be given the prize for her "influential" and "innovative" career.
