SHOCKING: Diamond Bank Building Becomes Hideout For Criminals, Robbers In Ogun.

While the Ogun State government, led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun, is doing everything within his reach to curb crime rates in the state, one of Nigeria’s financial institutions known as Diamond Bank, seems to be bent on allegedly increasing and encouraging crime in Ogun State, despite the cries of the people on this matter.

This has now made some residents of the state conclude in their minds that Diamond Bank may be allegedly happy with the development, which has left them to worry about this development as they are now left very confused as to what to now do on the matter. This is because an abandoned building of Diamond Bank in Ota, Ogun State, has allegedly become a comfortable hideout for criminals and armed robbers in the area, where they allegedly keep dangerous weapons they use in terrorising residents of the area.

The Diamond Bank branch, located along the popular Idi-Iroko road, Ota, Ogun State, which is few meters away from Bishop David Oyedepo’s Canaan-Land, was erected some months ago, but has never been used by the bank for banking operations.

The building, as seen in the pictures, now boasts of overgrown weeds, which has also become the breeding haven for dangerous and deadly reptiles and animals like snakes and scorpions.

Though, with its signpost and other corporate identities, the management of the bank that pride itself as ‘best choice for customers to port to’ is not living up to its many promises.

Residents of the area are embittered that the bank has allegedly refused to clear the weeds, even if they are not ready to put the facility into use.

A resident said, ‘Diamond Bank branch has become a real problem in this area. We are attacked on a daily basis by snakes, just because the management [of the bank] refuses to cut down the weeds. They should at least maintain the place if they don’t want to use it.’

It was further gathered that few months ago, policemen reportedly arrested some armed robbers around the area and it was discovered that some of their guns and other deadly weapons with which they rob innocent citizens were hidden in the abandoned Diamond bank building.

‘It was the Police at Obasanjo Farm bus/stop that arrested the hoodlums. You won’t believe they use the Diamond bank abandoned building as their ‘warehouse’, a source disclosed.

Meanwhile, efforts to speak with the bank Corporate Communications personnel before press time proved abortive.
