Team News
- Lucas Alcaraz's side made a positive start to the season by taking all three points at Osasuna, which is never an easy place to go.
- This fixture last season was Alcaraz's first game back in charge of Granada and ended in a shock home win.
- Raphael Varane is still recovering from a knee injury, meaning Pepe will retain his place in central defence.
- Ancelotti surprised many by playing Diego Lopez over club captain Iker Casillas against Betis. Both players participated in the Trofeo Bernabeu on Thursday and it is still unclear who will feature against Granada.
- Xabi Alonso is out for up to three months after breaking a metatarsal in his right foot, a huge setback for him and the club because he was expected to be on the verge of returning to action following surgery to treat a groin injury.
- Asier Illaramendi is also not ready, meaning Sami Khedira will partner Luka Modric in midfield again.

Prediction
- Real Madrid did not have an easy start to the season against Real Betis and were made to work for the win.
- They face an improved Granada side from last year and a fervent atmosphere at El Nuevo Los Carmenes, a stadium they will not have fond memories of after last season's defeat.
- The injury to Alonso means Madrid will field a similar team to the one that beat Betis, although there are question marks over whether Diego Lopez and Dani Carvajal will keep their places in the side.
- Alcaraz's side will make Madrid sweat, but Ancelotti's side have far more quality than their opponents and should make it show in the scoreline.
