Cesc Fabregas has returned to
Barcelona, kicking off his pre-season schedule with a medical at the club's
training ground.
The former Arsenal midfielder has
been on holiday since playing for Spain in the Confederations Cup.
Manchester United boss David Moyes
has put Fabregas at the top of his transfer wish-list as he aims to add a world-class
midfielder to his rank
United have already had two bids
rejected by Barcelona, and Moyes admitted the Premier League champions were
looking to add new faces to their ranks.
Moyes said: ‘I couldn't tell if
there will be another bid but obviously we'll take stock of it and decide what
we're going to do next.
I've never at any time said that we
would get him. We've just made offers that have been rejected. We'll take stock
of the situation and we'll go from there.’
However, new Barcelona manager
Gerardo Martino, who took over after Tito Vilanova stepped down due to illness,
insisted his midfielder was going nowhere.
He said: 'Man United want Cesc? If
the club rejected two offers, I will reject it a third time. Cesc will be
here.'
